Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 9, Episode 1 Power Ranking! Oh My Gaga!

I think it would be fun to create a power ranking each week to see if we can predict who would make it to the final 3. Most episodes, I will base the power ranking on how they perform in Mini Challenge(25), Maxi challenge (25), runway looks (25), and of course…personal judgement lol (25). But since episode 1 is a little different, this week’s power ranking is Continue reading “Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 9, Episode 1 Power Ranking! Oh My Gaga!”

Riverdale Review: Archie Comics Gets Darker.

Josie, Jughead, Betty, Archie, Veronica, Kevin, Cheryl, Reggie

I couldn’t help but notice that lately there are so many new horror/thriller series out there in the US, and as an aficionado of those genre, I am psyched! Now with most of my favorite thriller series being on a hiatus or a break, the premier of Riverdale this January definitely quench my thirst.

Riverdale is a teen thriller series that is based on the long-running comicbook called Archie. Now, as a non-American and a non-comic reader, I’m not that familiar with Archie, though I do know that it is one of the oldest comic books in America and many people love it.

I’ve read the first volume of the comic online and turns out it was a pretty light read although the series itself has been revamped into somewhat a darker and more broody version of it. I think of it as Gossip Girl meets Teen Wolf meets Pretty Little Liars, which couldn’t be more awesome!

Veronica, Betty, Josie, Jughead, Cheryl, Archie

Now, the characters! Besides being filled with, like, SUPER HOT casts, it just couldn’t get more classic American than this. There’s Archie the All-American Football Jock, Betty the sweet girl Next Door, Jughead the emo nerd, and also Veronica the Type A rich girl. All in all, it’s a pretty interesting and diverse casting. There’s Kevin who is the GBF and Veronica who is a Latina, then they also cast a black girl to play a character named Josie, and an Asian guy to play a character named Reggie, both were white in the comicboks. (yay, diversity!) For me, of course the most interesting characters would be Kevin and the antagonist, Cheryl because they throw so much shade and pop culture reference and I friggin live!!

Now the story, it will revolve around the town of Riverdale and the people who live in it. I haven’t got much from the first episode, but so far there are two main plots in the story. There’s a murder mystery-solving involving the main antagonist, Cheryl, and of course, a teenage love triangle between Archie, Betty, and Veronica.

If you love Pretty Little Liars, Wayward Pines, or Twin Peaks, I think you will enjoy this series because it has that same eerie atmosphere in it. I personally love this kind of show. Murder-mistery story arch, sullen and gloomy visual, couldn’t get any better. Even if you’re like me in the way that I don’t care that much about the whole teenage love triangle story, you can probably still enjoy the mystery aspect of the show.

Why Baking is Cool and The Great British Bake Off is The Show You Gotta Watch! Prepare to Drool!

“Mom, what if i were to enter a culinary school , specially patisserie school….”

“Why ? Do you want to be a servant?  I am not paying for it , it is such a waste of money and time, you can learn to cook at home! end of discussion!”

That’s what happened about two or three years ago when i HYPOTHETICALLY asked my mom about going to a culinary school. I wasn’t really going to enroll into a culinary school, but i had the thought for a really long time even before i took international relations as a major. But even just the thought of it didn’t sit well with my mom. Well in her defense , i was already on my first year studying IR at a local university, and it did cost her quite a lot financially.

It is a little bit disappointing that i might not be able to go into a culinary school, except if i were to pay for it by myself…., which is Continue reading “Why Baking is Cool and The Great British Bake Off is The Show You Gotta Watch! Prepare to Drool!”
